Gun Fired During Fight In Worcester's Bell Hill Area

Worcester police have arrested and charged a 21-year-old city man.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police arrested and charged a 21-year-old city man early Sunday morning after he fired a gun during a dispute in the Bell Hill area, police said.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday along Catharine Street, about two blocks north of Belmont Street. When police arrived, they found a crowd of upset people, and determined that a shot had been fired — but no one had been hit.

Officers later arrested Malike Saine, a Catharine Street resident, and charged him with carrying a gun without a license, shooting a gun within 500 feet of a home, possessing ammunition without a license, disorderly conduct and disturbing the police.
