Head-On Collision Sends 4 To The Hospital
Police are investigating a serious accident on Belmont Street.

WORCESTER, MA—Police are investigating a serious accident that happened on Tuesday evening in Worcester, sending four to the hospital.
On May 9, at 8:15 p.m., Worcester officers responded to the intersection of Belmont Street and Skyline Drive for a report of a serious, head-on collision between a Chevy sedan and Nissan SUV. Members of the Operations Division found one unresponsive male, later identified as a 19-year old from Shrewsbury, on the ground near the vehicles, and one unresponsive male, later identified as a 21-year old from Oxford, inside the Chevy. A 20-year-old Shrewsbury man had been in the Chevy during the accident, but was on his feet outside the vehicle when officers arrived, said police.
The operator of the Nissan, a 47-year-old Worcester man, was alert and conscious following the accident. Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage.
According to police, the Nissan was headed east down Belmont Street and the crash happened in the westbound lane of Belmont Street at the intersection of Skyline Drive. After the head-on collision, the Chevy struck an electrical box head on.
All four individuals involved in the crash were transported by ambulance to the hospital. The crash is being investigation by the Crash Reconstruction Unit.
