'Heavy' Damage After Flood At West Boylston Apartments: Video

A police department video shows a burst sprinkler pipe flooding a three-story apartment building in West Boylston.

WEST BOYLSTON, MA — A frozen sprinkler pipe broke and flooded a three-story apartment complex in West Boylston on Sunday morning, according to police. The flood left the building's residents homeless due to structural damage.

Police responded to the complex at 92 North Main St. at around 9 a.m. on Sunday. They arrived to find water spilling from the third floor of the building down into a stairwell.

The flood caused heavy property and structural damage, police said. The complex was evacuated while town building inspectors assessed the damage. The frozen pipe was located in the attic of the building.
