Hike Worcester Week 2022: Locals Challenged To Complete 10+ Adventures
The local hiking event is on now, challenging residents to discover new trails and raise money for the Greater Worcester Land Trust.

WORCESTER, MA — This week, find out if you have what it takes to brave Worcester's highest peaks, densest forests and one very nice waterfall.
The Greater Worcester Land Trust's 2022 Hike Worcester challenge began on Saturday, offering the chance to get outdoors and see some of GWLT's many properties and other natural areas — and raise money for an organization that maintains vital trails and green spaces across the area.
Here's how the challenge works: participants pay a $25 fee (it comes with a T-shirt) and then ask for people to pledge donations for every hike completed through Oct. 16. Participants who complete 10 hikes from a selection of trails will get a special commemorative patch.
This year's hiking week also includes some new GWLT properties and associated trails: the new city of Worcester boardwalk at Coes Pond, which is a link along the East-West Trail; Difley Family Forest in Paxton; and Blueberry Hill at the Holden-West Boylston line. For a complete list of hikes, visit the Hike Worcester webpage.
The challenge will also include a series of guided hikes anyone can participate in:

- Friday, 3:30 p.m. — Mass Audubon Broad Meadow Brook Park (no pets), 76 Dunkirk Ave., Worester. More info on Facebook.
