Holy Cross Volleyball Set to Host Dig Pink Rally

Crusader Volleyball Hosts Breast Cancer Awareness Game on Saturday Evening

WORCESTER, Mass. – The Holy Cross volleyball team will host its annual Dig Pink Rally match on Saturday, Oct. 1 at the Holy Cross Field House versus American at 4:05 p.m. The Crusaders will be collecting donations and raising money online for the Side-Out Foundation and its Dig Pink initiative.

Holy Cross will have a raffle at the match with all proceeds going towards the Side-Out Foundation’s mission. At the match versus American on Saturday, Oct. 1, fans will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win autographed memorabilia by United States men’s national volleyball team member Matt Anderson. Prizes include t-shirts, a pink volleyball and several photographs signed by Anderson. Three raffles will take place between sets two and three with each selected winner receiving two of the memorabilia items.

Starting at 3:05 p.m., tickets can be purchased for $5 at the marketing table upon attending the match. Winners must be present in the stands between sets two and three to receive their prizes.

Every fall, thousands of schools across the country and their volleyball programs participate in Dig Pink to work as a team to raise funds for breast cancer research, while supporting people with the disease. The funds raised from the Side-Out Foundation go toward a clinical trial specifically for patients with stage four breast cancer, the most advanced form of the disease and the least funded area of research. The Side-Out Foundation teams with the volleyball community to inspire science and hope in the match against breast cancer.
