A Horse Is A Horse And Needs A Name, Of Course: Schools Compete For Prize Money
Worcester schoolkids are getting the chance to name one of the horses on the Worcester police squad. The winner's going to bring in money.

WORCESTER, MA—Worcester students are getting a chance to give a name to a really special horse. This horse works with the Worcester Police Department.
UniBank has naming rights to one of the horses of the Worcester Police Mounted Patrol Unit.
"To make things fun and involve the Worcester community," UniBank is giving each elementary school (grades 3-5) in the city a chance to submit three names that will be considered by a panel of judges.

On Thursday, Officer David Rojas and Officer Paul Keyes from newly formed Worcester Police Mounted Patrol Unit, along with Chief Steven M. Sargent, visited the Worcester Arts Magnet School to help kick off the contest. Chief Sargent and the officers talked about the important tasks of the Mounted Patrol Unit and the horses they are currently training to begin patrolling in the city’s neighborhoods in a few months, said the announcement.
If selected, the winning school will receive a grant of $1,000 to help purchase supplies.
