UPDATED: Parent Who Wore Clown Mask And Followed School Bus Will Be Charged, Say Police

AUBURN, MA — Police plan to charge a man who allegedly dressed as a clown and followed several middle school students from their bus and bus stop on Tuesday.
In the midst of the clown scare hitting the country, a parent of one of the students followed the vehicle and watched the children getting off the bus, according to the Auburn Police Department.
APD investigated the incident, which took place on Tuesday, and identified the person. The individual was determined to be a parent of one of the students on the bus.

Charges of Disorderly Conduct and Disturbing the Peace will be sought in Worcester District Court against the Auburn man who followed the bus dressed like a clown.
"This caused extreme fear to the children and also caused them to have to hide under a nearby backyard deck to avoid the man," wrote Auburn police. "In keeping with our policy the man will not be identified while the charges are being processed. We are hopeful that others will learn from this incident and not repeat these types of behaviors. We sincerely appreciate the assistance of those who contacted us with information that led to this individual being identified."
