Kasich Town-Halled It in Worcester, Ate at Coney Island

The presidential candidate held a Town Hall in Worcester, and reassured voters he's in it for the long haul.

WORCESTER, MA — Republican presidential candidate John Kasich held a Town Hall in Worcester on Saturday while the primary cranked on in South Carolina.

The Ohio governor told Worcester voters that he’s tough enough to be president, reported WHDH-TV, and will campaign in Massachusetts and Vermont throughout the week.

Drawing an enthusiastic crowd to the Worcester Hibernian Cultural Center, he told Boston Globe reporters, “If I were there today, I would just be yelling at people on the way to the polls saying, ‘Hey! Vote for me!’ If somebody yelled at me when I was going to the polls, I’d vote against them.”

Worcester Magazine noted that Kasich got points for pronouncing ”Worcester” correctly, and that he lunched at Coney Island earlier in the day. Several Republican representatives from the area attended the event.
