Kilo Of Heroin, $30,000 In Cash Gets 3 Arrested: Worcester Police
The vice squad arrested three on Franklin Street for heroin distribution.

WORCESTER, MA — More than a kilo of heroin and $30,000 in cash was seized during a drug raid in the city this week.
Worcester's vice squad worked with several other agencies to survey the area of 388 Franklin St., and a gray Nissan Versa parked near the address, as part of an ongoing investigation of a large scale heroin distribution organization that operates in the city.
Around 5:40 p.m. on Thursday, officers spotted a man (later identified as Jose Peralta-Sanchez, 28, of New Jersey) leave 388 Franklin St. get in the Nissan, and drive away. Police followed the Nissan and were able to stop the vehicle on Mendon Street. During the stop, police recovered over 100 grams of heroin and $1,487 in cash from Peralta-Sanchez.
Other officers got ready to search the property when they spotted two individuals (later identified as Carlos Mena-Murillo, 33, and Antia Paula, 23, both of New York) leave that same address carrying several suitcases and approach a cab that had just pulled up. Officers stopped Murillo and Paula before they could get in the cab as members of the Worcester Police Swat Team went inside the house.
Police searched the suitcases and found more than a kilo of heroin and $30,000 in cash. Inside the house, police found drug packaging materials, cutting agents and other items that are used to distribute heroin. In total, approximately 1,300 grams of heroin was seized.
All three were arrested and are being charged with Trafficking in a Class A Substance over 200 grams. They were arraigned in Worcester District Court on Friday.
