Knife-Swinging Robber Injures Worcester Man

A man was stabbed while walking home from a 7-Eleven during an early Sunday morning robbery, according to Worcester police.

WORCESTER, MA — A 29-year-old Worcester man was injured by a robber wielding a small knife early Sunday morning along June Street.

The robbery happened around 7 a.m. when the victim was walking home from the 7-Eleven near June and Chandler streets. When confronted by the robber, the victim fought back. That's when the robber pulled out a folding knife and began swinging it at the victim.

The victim suffered a severe laceration on his finger and cuts on his arms. Police met him at a local hospital, and the victim told officers the robber was a white man, about 5'9", and was wearing dark clothes.

Police did not immediately find the robber and are still investigating.
