L.L.Bean Near Worcester Gets Grand Opening Date

The Shoppes at Blackstone Valley L.L.Bean store was originally announced in April.

WORCESTER, MA — There won't be a duck boot shortage in the Worcester area this year.

A new L.L.Bean store will open at the Shoppes at Blackstone Valley shopping plaza in Millbury on Oct. 22, the Maine-based retailer said Tuesday. Plans for the store were initially unveiled in late April.

The 15,000 square-foot store will employ about 50 people, and will include an array of items for men, women and children, according to the company. The Worcester-area store accompanies two others in Salem, N.H., and Amherst, N.Y., the company is opening in 2021.

The Millbury store will be the retailer's eighth in Massachusetts, with locations in Mashpee, Wareham, Hadley, Mansfield, Boston, Dedham and Burlington.

Along with the opening, the Millbury L.L. Bean will donate $10,000 to the town's trails committee for maintenance work in the area.
