Large $1M Lottery Prize Sold In Worcester County Store

A massive lottery prize was sold at a Worcester County store this week.

EAST TEMPLETON, MA — A massive lottery prize was sold at a Worcester County store this week.

A $1 million lottery ticket was purchased at Cumberland Farms in East Templeton on Monday. The winning ticket came from the Massachusetts State Lottery's "$4,000,000 EXTREME Cash" scratch-off game.

It marks just the second time a Massachusetts lottery player has won a prize that large from the game.

To win, a player must match any of their numbers to any of the winning numbers. The odds of winning the second-largest $1 million prize are one in more than 1.6 million.

Four $1 million prizes remain unclaimed in the scratch-off game.

The Massachusetts State Lottery did not disclose the identity of the winner. Retailers that sell winning tickets typically receive a bonus from the Lottery.

Four other lottery prizes were sold at the same Cumberland Farms in East Templeton over the last week. Among the four, two lucky Bay Staters will get more than $1,000 in prizes.

The Massachusetts State Lottery shares a daily list of winning tickets. You can find it here.
