MA Inmate Threatened To Kill Trump, Bomb Courthouse: Feds
The 34-year-old made the threats while locked up at the Federal Medical Center in Devens, officials said.
WORCESTER, MA — An inmate incarcerated at a federal detention center in Devens will appear at federal court in Worcester this week to face charges that he threatened to blow up a courthouse, kill federal investigators, and President Donald Trump.
And this isn't the first time inmate Nathan Danforth, 34, has threatened to kill a president, according federal officials.
Danforth was sentenced in Florida in 2017 and again in 2019 for threatening to kill Trump. In a letter he recently tried to send from Devens, he threatened to blow up the Florida courthouse where he was sentenced, and kill the investigators involved in the case.
Then in February, Danforth emailed the Department of Justice Office of Inspector General and threatened to kill Trump and blow up federal buildings, federal officials said.
Danforth was set to be released on April 5, according to the federal Bureau of Prisons. He is set to appear in court in Worcester on Thursday on charges of making threats to murder a federal law enforcement officer, and threats to kill an individual or damage a building with an explosive.
