MA Most Wanted Child Porn Fugitive Arrested In N.J.

Stephen Cote was added to the Massachusetts State Police Most Wanted Fugitives list less than a month ago.

A child pornography suspect who found himself on the Massachusetts State Police Most Wanted Fugitives list was arrested Thursday afternoon in New Jersey. Stephen Cote, 47, was arrested in a parking lot of the Westgate apartment complex in Lakewood, N.J.

Mass. State Police and U.S. Marshals recently discovered Cote could be in the Lakewood area and identified a car he may be driving. They forwarded it to the New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.

The Task Force set up surveillance outside the Westgate apartment complex and saw Cote drive in. They arrested him on an outstanding warrant.

Cote was wanted by Mass. State Police, Northampton Police, and federal law enforcement for allegedly receiving child pornography. An arrest warrant was issued for him in Nov. 2015, but he fled.

Cote was added to the Most Wanted Fugitives list June 25.
