Man Jumps From Courthouse Balcony, Was Set to Undergo Mental Evaluation
A man was hospitalized after jumping from the third floor at the Worcester Trial Court.
WORCESTER – A man is in the hospital with serious injuries after he jumped from the third floor balcony at the Worcester Trial Court on Thursday.
Officials confirmed to MassLive Worcester that the man was still alive when he was transported, and had a pending mental health evaluation. After coming out of a courtroom hearing Thursday morning, he climbed over the banister and landed on the first floor.
The man was bleeding, shaking and screaming as court officers and a state trooper tended to him, bandaging his head before medical personnel arrived, reports the Worcester Telegram and Gazette.

A spokeswoman told the Telegram that the man was injured around 9:40 a.m., and that police were investigating.
