Man Robs Family Dollar In Worcester, Arrested Quickly

A man who allegedly robbed the Family Dollar was apprehended quickly after the incident.

WORCESTER, MA—On Friday, April 28, at approximately 12:42 p.m., Worcester police were called to the Family Dollar on Chandler Street. Employees said that a man had just been caught shoplifting from the store. When confronted by employees, he began to physically fight with them. During the fight, the suspect pulled out a knife and threatened them with it, said police. He fled the area.

After getting a description, police found and stopped Angel Lopez-Ramos, 43, Queen Street. He was identified by the victims and placed under arrest. Officers found a small bag of what appeared to be crack cocaine, a folding knife, and the stolen items from the store. Lopez-Ramos is charged with Armed Robbery, Possession of a Class B Substance, and Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.

Lopez-Ramos was arraigned at the Worcester County District Courthouse on Monday, May 1.
