WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester Arts Magnet School was damaged early Thursday morning in a fire that was intentionally set, according to Worcester police.

Firefighters responded to the school along Saint Nicholas Avenue at around 2:30 a.m. A fire set in bushes near the building spread to the school's roof. The fire in turn set off the building's sprinkler system, flooding and damaging items in two classrooms.

At the scene, Worcester police arrested Jordon Calderon, 21, and charged him with willful and malicious destruction of property and arson of a public building.
