Man Shot In Worcester, Two Arrested: Police

The 21-year-old victim's injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

WORCESTER, MA — A 21-year-old man was injured early Monday morning after a shooting along Plantation Street, according to Worcester police. Two men have been arrested in connection with the violence.

The shooting happened around 1 a.m., police said. The victim was taken to a local hospital, but police said his injuries were not life-threatening.

Later, officers spotted a car associated with the shooting near Chandler and Dewey streets, and arrested the two men inside.

Samuel Chery, 19, of Lancaster, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery by discharging a firearm, armed assault with intent to rob or murder and other gun law violations. Joessy Beaz, 21, of Worcester, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery with a gun and armed assault to murder.
