Man Stabbed, Woman Taken Captive During Worcester Incident

Worcester police arrested a 27-year-old man following the Tuesday incidents along Stafford Street.

WORCESTER, MA — A 27-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning after a series of violent incidents in southwest Worcester, according to police.

Around 1 a.m., police responded to near Stafford Street and Grandview Avenue on a report of a stabbing. They found a 26-year-old man with multiple stab wounds, and he was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Around the same time, police responded to an incident farther north on Stafford Street near Park Avenue where a woman was seen jumping from a moving car. The woman had been forced into the car and beaten, police said.

The driver ran, but police arrested him near where the woman jumped from the car. He was charged with assault and battery, assault and battery on a household member, mayhem, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, armed robbery, carjacking, kidnapping, witness intimidation, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and operating a car with a license.

He is also facing drug possession charges after police say they found opioids and other pills in his car. He was not identified due to his involvement in a domestic violence incident.
