Man Stabbed In Worcester Is Domestic Violence Victim: Police
The 48-year-old suffered non-life threatening injuries in the Wednesday morning incident, police said.
WORCESTER, MA — Worcester police arrested a 64-year-old man Wednesday morning after a domestic violence stabbing along Cambridge Street.
Police responded just after 7:30 a.m. and found a 48-year-old man with non-life threatening injuries. He was treated at the scene and taken to the hospital. Officers found the suspect nearby in a backyard.
The suspect was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. Neither the victim nor the suspect was named due to a state law that protects the identities of people involved in domestic violence.
The incident comes after two fatal domestic violence stabbings in Worcester in October.
On Oct. 18, police say that Jennifer Algarin, 32, stabbed and killed her boyfriend, Jason Swedberg, 40, at a home along Dixfield Street.
On Oct. 2, Thomas Bergstrom, 36, killed his girlfriend, Jennifer Vazquez-Rivera, 34, according to prosecutors. That incident happened at a home along Lapierre Street.
