WORCESTER, MA — A man accused of stabbing two people in downtown Worcester was arrested and charged Sunday, according to police.

Gage Beauchesne, 32, of Main Street, is charged with two counts of assault and battery with a knife, police said.

Officers responded shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday to a report of a possible stabbing on Church Street, according to police. An officer saw two males, including Beauchesne — who had blood visible on his person and was in possession of a folding knife, police said.

Beauchesne had approached a small group, and, after an argument followed by a physical fight, he stabbed two males, according to police. The victims were taken to a hospital with wounds that were not life-threatening, police said.
