Man Suing Police Department For $15 Million, Alleging Excessive Force
A man is suing the Northampton Police Department, alleging they caused him serious injuries.

NORTHAMPTON, MA—Northampton police are facing a $15 million lawsuit filed by a man who says they caused him serious injuries by using excessive force.
Gregory Stevens, of Easthampton, says in 2014, that he suffered multiple injuries, including brain damage and a torn ligament, during an arrest outside of a city bar, reports WHDH-Channel 7 News.
Stevens in his complaint wrote that he was excited in the bar, feeling so good that he jumped onto the table, reports MassLive. At that time, owners of the bar Hinge (now closed) asked him to leave when an altercation ensued.
Police say they saw a Stevens throw a punch outside, and that one officer grabbed him and forced him into a brick wall, according to MassLive.
