Serious Mass Pike Crash Causing Long Backups Near I-290: MassDOT
The crash happened early Thursday morning near the I-290/I-395 interchange in Auburn.
AUBURN, MA — Drivers in the Worcester area should avoid a major Mass Pike interchange Thursday morning due to a crash with serious injuries.
MassDOT reported the incident just after 7:30 a.m. in Auburn near the interchange with I-290 and I-395. All eastbound lanes of the highway were initially closed in that area, but one lane had reopened as of 8 a.m. The MassDOT traffic map showed eastbound traffic backed up past Hammond Hill Road in Charlton.
Four vehicles were involved in the collision, according to Auburn police.
