Mass Pike Traffic Stop Yields Cocaine, Heroin, Fentanyl: State PD

During a traffic stop over car insurance on Monday night, a trooper found a passenger in the car with a variety of drugs, police said.

CHARLTON, MA — A state trooper discovered a cache of drugs in a car after a traffic stop along the Mass Pike late Monday night, according to state police. The trooper found over 40 grams of cocaine, heroin, and fentanyl in a North Shore man's car.

The trooper pulled over the driver near 11:30 p.m. Monday in Charlton after finding that the car was not covered by insurance. The trooper searched a passenger in the car, Israel Jiminez, 46, of Lawrence, and found he had 31 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of heroin, and a gram of fentanyl, police said.

Jiminez was arrested and later charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of a class A drug. The trooper gave the driver a summons for motor vehicle violations.
