Molotov Cocktail Case May End In Plea Deal, Feds Say: Patch PM
Also: Poll workers needed | 33 communities at higher coronavirus risk | More

WORCESTER, MA — It's Tuesday afternoon, but it's so hot out you can be forgiven for forgetting what day it is. One thing to keep in mind: the National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for central Worcester County until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
And do keep that warning in mind. This week is the anniversary of several notable tornado outbreaks in New England. On Aug. 9, 1972, three small tornadoes touched down in Wilbraham, Templeton, and then later in the day in Newton, Brookline and Needham.
In today's news, here's what we've been keeping an eye on.
Federal prosecutors are eyeing a plea deal for a Worcester man accused of carrying Molotov cocktails during a June 1 protest. Prosecutors have extended the deadline for filing an indictment to avoid taking the matter to trial.
