Storm May Bring 6 Inches Of Snow To Parts Of MA; Some Schools Closed
Snow will pick up during the day Monday, setting up a messing evening commute across eastern Massachusetts.

WORCESTER, MA — Another round of precipitation is heading our way, and it's going to be a long-duration event.
The National Weather Service Sunday morning issued a winter weather advisory warning of as much as 4 to 6 inches of snow in a large area from Worcester northeast to Lawrence. The advisory will be in effect from 7 p.m. Sunday to 1 a.m. Tuesday and covers all of Worcester, Middlesex, Essex, Suffolk and Norfolk counties.
The storm started off as light snow at higher elevations Sunday night with rain toward Boston. The storm will gradually change to all snow by mid-morning on Monday. The snow will continue through much of the day, ending in Worcester by about 7 p.m., according to forecasts.

Worcester Public School canceled classes Monday with heavy snow for central Massachusetts in the forecast. School districts north and west of Worcester including Fitchburg and Gardner had also canceled classes Sunday night.
"Snow in the higher elevations tonight with rain in lower elevations and coastal areas. Rain/snow line moves southeast through the region tomorrow with everyone seeing snow by tomorrow afternoon. Use caution on the roads tonight and tomorrow." the weather advisory said in a tweet Sunday evening.

Farther east near the Essex-Middlesex line, snow will still be heavy, but totals will be in the 3 to 4 inch range, according to the forecast. From Boston south through Norfolk and northern Plymouth counties, totals could range from 2 to 3 inches.
There's also a coastal flood advisory in effect on Monday for all shoreline areas in Essex, Suffolk, Norfolk and Plymouth counties — that's due to high tides coinciding with heavy precipitation.
Northern Worcester County and areas west of the Quabbin Reservoir will see much more snow accumulation, with as much as 8 inches along I-91 near the Vermont-New Hampshire border and west to North Adams, the weather service said.
