WORCESTER, MA — Outdoor summer movie screenings are making their comeback this week in Worcester.

Movies on the Common is returning with a free outdoor screening of “Wicked: For Good". The show is scheduled for Thursday, with pre-movie entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. and the movie starting at 7 p.m.

The movie night will take place at the Worcester Common Oval, 455 Main St., behind City Hall.

Organizers said guests can expect local food, themed giveaways and community vibes, all in a welcoming and accessible setting. This year's production also includes a state-of-the-art LED screen.

Attendees are encouraged to arrive early because space is limited. People may bring blankets and chairs or use seating available on the Common, according to the event listing.

The first 100 attendees will receive free popcorn from Minuteman Kettle Corn, and the first 50 attendees will receive a free food or drink voucher for on-site vendors. Refreshments will also be available for purchase on-site and at nearby downtown restaurants.

The event is free, and the rain date is Thursday, Jun. 18. Meanwhile, two other movies will be shown this summer, including Zootopia 2 on Jul. 9 and Superman on Aug. 13.
