WORCESTER, MA — A New Hampshire man has been indicted for killing a woman at a Worcester restaurant in July. Carlos Asencio, 28 of Derry, N.H., was arrested immediately after the crime, but was not found competent to stand trial.

A Worcester County grand jury indicted Asencio Friday on charges of murder and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

According to police, Asencio stabbed Amanda Dabrowski, 31, as she attended a book club inside O'Connor's Restaurant, 1160 W Boylston St., on July 3. The two had dated for a few months, and she had sought a restraining order against him.

Before her murder, Dabrowski experienced a home invasion on Easter Sunday. The perpetrator was never caught, but she told police that she believed Asencio did it.

Dabrowski did eventually get a restraining order, but it did not prevent Asencio from continuing a pattern of cyber stalking, according to reports. The order also did not alert authorities when Asencio reentered the U.S. from Mexico.
