National Salad Chain To Open First Location In Worcester County
The eatery has 25 locations in Massachusetts, and this marks its first in Worcester County.
MILLBURY, MA — A popular salad and bowl spot is expected to open at The Shops at Blackstone Valley.
A Sweetgreen location is coming soon at 70 Worcester-Providence Turnpike, Suite 710, in Millbury, according to the company's website. The eatery has 25 locations in Massachusetts, and this marks its first in Worcester County.
Other Sweetgreen locations in the Bay State include several in Boston, Cambridge, Somerville, Burlington, Peabody, and Wellesley.

Sweetgreen offers salads and bowls, with featured seasonal items, as well as protein plates. You can find its complete menu here.
It’s unclear when the store will officially open. When calling the Millbury store, an automated message says, “This store is not yet open.”

Patch has also reached out to Sweetgreen and the Shops at Blackstone Valley and has not yet received a response.
Avvio Ristorante, a popular Italian restaurant in Rhode Island, also recently announced its plans to open in the shopping center. The eatery is expected to open this summer, according to an announcement on its website.
Avvio, which has been open in Cranston, Rhode Island, since 2016, serves Italian classics, such as pizza and pasta, along with a variety of sandwiches and entrees.
The Shops at Blackstone Valley is also home to a number of other stores and restaurants, including an Applebee’s, TGI Fridays, Dick’s Sporting Goods, and an Apple Store that opened last year. Apple moved its store at Solomon Pond Mall in Marlborough to Millbury in December.
