New 55+ Apartment Complex Debuts In Worcester

The development contains 123 one- and two-bedroom apartments across three buildings.

WORCESTER, MA — A new senior apartment complex officially opened in Worcester this week.

The Arbella at Bramble Hill marked its opening Wednesday with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the city’s West Side. The celebration brought together the property’s team, community leaders, business partners, and guests at 361 Arbella Dr. off Salisbury Street.

The event included remarks, recognitions, live music, food, and a ribbon-cutting, the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce announced on Thursday.

The Arbella is a market-rate rental community for adults 55 and older, which was developed by the United Group of Companies. The development contains 123 one- and two-bedroom apartments across three buildings on 17 acres near Salisbury Street, according to United Group.

The company said it completed the development in the first quarter of 2026. Amenities include an indoor pool, sauna, fitness center, yoga studio, multimedia theater, community garden, walking trails and pickleball and bocce courts.

The community was built at the former Higgins Estate site. United Group broke ground on the project in June 2024.

In November, United Group also donated $100,000 to Worcester’s Affordable Housing Trust Fund, the city said.

The development was exempt from the city’s inclusionary zoning requirements, but the company voluntarily offered the contribution.
