New Worcester Cannabis Shop Opening In Canal District
Oregon-based Diem Cannabis is opening its first Massachusetts recreational cannabis store on Friday.

WORCESTER, MA — Worcester's Canal District neighborhood will get its second recreational cannabis dispensary on Friday. Diem Cannabis will open in a remodeled automotive garage at 74 Grafton St, according to the company.
This will be the first Massachusetts store for Oregon-based Diem Cannabis. After receiving a provisional license in October, the state Cannabis Control Commission granted Diem permission to commence sales last Friday.
Diem will be just a few blocks north of Good Chemistry, which was the first recreational cannabis store to open in Worcester in May 2019. Two other Worcester dispensaries, The Botanist and Mission Dispensaries, only offer medical marijuana. The newest medical dispensary, Resinate, opened in March along Millbury Street.

Recreational dispensaries across the state were allowed to reopen on May 25 following a coronavirus shutdown. The state entered phase 2 of the reopening plan on June 8, which means recreational stores can begin selling products in stores while taking precautions to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Medical marijuana dispensaries were allowed to remain open throughout the pandemic.
