NH Doctor Arraigned On Gun Charges In Worcester

The man faces several charges from Auburn police including gun and sex-for-fee charges.

WORCESTER, MA- A New Hampshire doctor was arraigned in Worcester on Monday after Auburn police arrested him on Sunday slapping weapons charges and sex-for-fee charges against him.

Kang Lu of Spofford, New Hampshire was stopped on Sunday night when an Auburn police officer noticed a traffic violation while Lu drove onto Route 12 and into an Arby's parking lot. According to police Lu is a Radiologist in New Hampshire. As the officer spoke to Lu and the woman in the passenger seat he found out the two had just met and Lu had paid money in exchange for sex, according to police.

When Lu stepped out of the car, the officer spotted a large fixed-blade knife on his left hip, according to police. As a safety measure, officers ordered Lu to raise his hands and keep them up until they could handcuff him. He didn't and began reaching toward his waist, where he had a loaded Glock handgun magazine, according to police.

Lu didn't have any weapons license to show police but instead told officers he was not required to possess a license for any firearm and could "carry" one under the 2nd Ammendment of the Constitution of the United States, according to police.

He was arraigned on charges of possession of a large capacity firearm, carrying a firearm without a license (fourth offense), possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card and engaging in sexual conduct for a fee.
