NH Man Charged After 2 Loaded Guns Found During Traffic Stop In Worcester
A New Hampshire man faces multiple firearms charges after a traffic stop in Worcester.
WORCESTER, MA — A New Hampshire man faces multiple firearms charges after a traffic stop Sunday night in Great Brook Valley, police said.
Liam Nolan, 21, of Manchester, New Hampshire, is facing charges after Worcester Police Department Gang Unit officers found two loaded firearms under the driver’s seat of his vehicle at about 9:21 p.m. on Aug. 9, according to police. Investigators determined Nolan did not have a valid license to carry, police said.
Officers assigned to the department’s Summer Impact initiative were patrolling near 40 Great Brook Valley after a ShotSpotter alert indicated gunfire in the area at about 4:21 a.m., according to police.
Police said officers stopped Nolan after seeing his vehicle exceeding the speed limit. Nolan was uncooperative and resisted as officers removed him from the vehicle, according to police. Officers also found gloves and a ski mask in his possession.
Nolan was charged with two counts each of carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a loaded firearm without a license, possessing a large-capacity feeding device and possessing a large-capacity firearm. He was also charged with possessing ammunition without a firearm identification card and resisting arrest.
