Pedestrian Hit By Driver In Worcester After Stepping Off Bus: PD

The collision happened along Southbridge Street early Thursday morning.

WORCESTER, MA — A 55-year-old man was hit by a driver and injured early Thursday morning along Southbridge Street, according to police.

The incident happened around 6:45 a.m. near the Rotman's furniture store. The man stepped off a bus and began crossing Southbridge when he was hit by a 63-year-old woman driving a Subaru sedan, according to police.

The pedestrian complained of ankle pain, and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

Police were still investigating the circumstances of the collision Thursday morning, but said the pedestrian was not crossing in a crosswalk.
