Hartford Man Killed Along Mass Pike In Charlton

The person may have been exiting a car when they were hit late Tuesday night, according to state police.

CHARLTON, MA — A 33-year-old Hartford, Conn., man was killed along the Mass Pike late Tuesday night, according to state police.

The victim broke down near 11:30 p.m. Tuesday in the eastbound lanes. Police said a tractor trailer driver hit the victim as he was getting out of his Toyota Camry to check on the problem. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 35-year-old Hartford man was also riding in the car, but was not injured. A 47-year-old man was driving the 53-foot tractor trailer, and pulled over immediately after the accident, state police said.

Police are investigating the collision, and did not immediately announce any charges.
