Pedestrian Suffers Serious Injuries, Struck By Car On Grafton Street

A 28-year-old man was hit in the area of Franklin and Grafton streets in Worcester on Friday afternoon.

WORCESTER, MA—A man is in stable condition after suffering serious injuries from being struck by a vehicle in the area of Franklin Street and Grafton Street on Friday afternoon.

On Sept. 15 around 3 p.m., Worcester Police responded to a reported pedestrian and motor vehicle accident in the area of Franklin Street and Grafton Street. They found a 28-year-old man being treated by EMS, and the man was suffering from serious injuries. He was stabilized at the scene.

Investigators said that the operator, a 52-year-old male Worcester resident, remained at the scene. The driver reportedly had driven his 2015 Toyota Sienna south on Grafton Street coming from Washington Square. He drove in the left lane when he hit the pedestrian, said police, with the pedestrian hitting the hood and lower windshield. After they collided, the pedestrian went airborne and landed in the northbound lane on Grafton Street.

The incident is still under investigation and no citations have been issued.
