Police Find Cocaine, Heroin, Loaded Guns, in Worcester Apartment During Arrest
During an arrest of one man, another tried to flush heroin down the sink and fought with police.

WORCESTER, MA — A second person was arrested during a warrant arrest after police ultimately found cocaine, heroin and illegal guns on the property.
Around 6:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11, Worcester police from the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force along with members of the Massachusetts State Police VFAS unit and Department of Corrections went to Southgate Street in Worcester to locate 32-year-old Sonia Bracero, who was wanted on outstanding warrants.
Officers knocked on the door, and a man identified as Raul Aponte, 35, answered. Police found and arrested Bracero.
While inside the apartment, officers spotted some heroin in plain view in the kitchen. Police questioned Aponte regarding the suspected heroin, and Aponte immediately attempted to destroy the drugs by washing them down the kitchen sink, said police. A violent struggle ensued, and Aponte refused to be placed in handcuffs.
While on scene, officers then saw a handgun in the lower kitchen cabinet. After a search, officers located a loaded .40 caliber handgun, 30 grams of cocaine, 7 grams of heroin, scales, packaging material, and $1,900.
Aponte is being charged with Trafficking in a Class B Substance 18-36 grams, Possession of a Class A Substance with the Intent to Distribute, Use of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Improper Storage of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm without an FID, Resisting Arrest, and Interfering with a Police Officer.
