Police ID 2 Worcester County Men Killed In Head-On Crash

EAST BROOKFIELD, MA — State police have identified the two Worcester County men who died in a head-on collision along Route 49 in East Brookfield on Monday afternoon.

According to state police, Jesus Acevedo, 60, of Fitchburg, drove his Nissan SUV across the center line near Flagg Road. He collided with a pickup truck being driven northbound by Daniel Wilmore, 71, of Leicester. Both men died at the scene of the incident.

A 28-year-old from Leicester was also riding in Wilmore's pickup truck. He was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries after the collision, state police said.

Route 49 was closed for about four hours after the 12:30 p.m. crash. The north-south state road connects Route 9 in Spencer to Route 20 in Charlton.
