The pursuit ended after the driver turned down a dead-end street, Worcester police said.
WORCESTER, MA — A high-speed pursuit in Worcester over the weekend ended quickly after the driver turned down a dead-end street, police said.
The chase began around 1 a.m. Sunday when Worcester police said they noticed the driver of a pickup truck speeding along Grafton Street. Police said the driver, Jordan Dyer, 24, of Worcester, didn't stop when officers tried to pull him over. He turned down Fairmont Avenue, which dead-ends south of Grafton, police said.
When officers searched the vehicle, they found a gun reported stolen under the driver's seat, plus cocaine, marijuana and cash, police said. They also found a pair of brass knuckles, which are illegal in Massachusetts, police said.
Dyer was arrested and charged with carrying a dangerous weapon, speeding and possession of a class B substance.
There were two other men in the car. Kelvin Verde was charged with carrying a loaded gun with a license, receiving stolen property, and possession of ammunition without a license. Fitzroy Ball charged with carrying a dangerous weapon and possession of class B drugs with intent to distribute.
