The man was attacked in front of his home, with injuries sending him to ICU, where he remains in serious condition.

WORCESTER, MA—Police are searching for a suspect they say struck a man over the head with a lead pipe, "or something similar."

On Monday, Nov. 15, at approximately 8:05 p.m., Worcester police responded to an Ives Street apartment for a report of an assault. The 46-year-old victim was bleeding heavily from his head when police arrived, and he was suffering from a serious head wound after being struck with a blunt object. The victim was conscious and semi-alert. He is still in the ICU and his condition is serious, according to police.

The victim had gotten home shortly before 8 p.m., got out of his car, and was attacked by unknown suspect(s). He was struck on the head with a metal pipe, or something similar, said police. After the attack the victim managed to reach his apartment door and started to bang on it. Family members heard the noise and opened the door to find the victim on the floor.
