20,000 Baggies Of Heroin Seized During Traffic Stop: State Police

Three people were arrested after a routine traffic stop yielded 13 pounds of heroin. The bags were stamped with "Grey Goose."

CHICOPEE, MA—Three are facing charges after troopers found 13 pounds of heroin during a traffic stop, said Massachusetts State Police.

On Tuesday around 12:25 a.m., Trooper Matthew Stone stopped a Toyota Venza on Route 391 northbound by exit 6 in Holyoke for a violation. There were three people in the car.

The operator was identified as Erik Batista-Reyes, 20, from Bronx, NY. The passengers were identified as Felix Cerrategil, 20, and Gesler Echavarria, 20, also from Bronx. Other troopers and a K9, Partner Berry, were called in for the assist.

Troopers located 400 half-packs of heroin containing an estimated total of 20,000 individual baggies inside the vehicle. The approximate total weight was approximately 5,900 grams — or 13 pounds. The individual bags were stamped with the words “Grey Goose” in blue ink.

Batista-Reyes was charged with trafficking in heroin; unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle; conspiracy to violate the drug law; and was was also issued a motor vehicle citation for speeding and failing to drive in right lane.

Carretegil was charged with trafficking heroin; and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Echavarria was charged with trafficking heroin; and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
