Police Seize Stolen Truck Man Used to Plow in Worcester
The Volvo commercial truck had been reported stolen out of Maine. Somehow, this man was able to register the stolen truck.

WORCESTER, MA—After getting a report that a truck had been stolen from Maine, Worcester police found that a driver plowing for the city had allegedly stolen it.
On Dec. 29, 2016, members of the Worcester Police Department’s Commercial Truck Enforcement unit stopped a privately owned Volvo tri-axle dump truck plowing for the City of Worcester and seized the vehicle.
Police also received information from the East Providence Rhode Island Police, and found the vehicle on Millbury Street in Worcester. They seized the truck, and identified the driver and reported owner as Francis Whitenett, 56, of Paxton. Whitenett was issued a civil motor vehicle infraction and was released from the scene pending further investigation.

The Volvo truck is valued at approximately $90,000. The investigation by members of the Commercial Truck Enforcement Unit continues as police attempt to ascertain how the owner was able to register and insure the vehicle as it had been flagged in the system as stolen.
There are no more details to release at this time as the investigation is still active. Updates will be provided when available.
