Conn. Man Gets Life Sentence For 2016 Fitchburg Murder
Ramon Milan assisted in the murder of Kevin Cabrera-Soto, according to Worcester County DA Joseph Early.
WORCESTER, MA — A Bridgeport, Conn., man has been sentenced to life in prison for the 2016 murder of Kevin Cabrera-Soto in Fitchburg. Ramon Milan, 40, pleaded guilty on Friday to charges of second-degree murder, home invasion, armed robbery, and arson.
Milan is one of three suspects facing charges over Cabrera-Soto's murder. Jose Crespo, of Newark, N.J., will go to trial soon on a first-degree murder charge, and Wilfredo Muniz has been charged with misleading investigators.
Cabrera-Soto, 21, died on Dec. 3, 2016 after he was beaten and left in a burning bedroom during a home invasion robbery at an apartment along Laurel Street. Cabrera-Soto's girlfriend and her 7-year-old son were also in the apartment, but they were able to escape.
Milan and Crespo were arrested in Bridgeport in the days after the killing. Milan will be eligible for parole in 25 years, according to Worcester County District Attorney Joseph Early Jr.
