Search of Worcester Apartment Yields 108 Grams of Heroin, Stun Gun

Three roommates are facing drug trafficking and gun possession charges after police found heroin and a stun gun in their home.

WORCESTER, MA—A Worcester man is facing several drug charges and a possession charge after a search warrant of his home produced 108 grams of heroin and a stun gun.

With a search warrant in hand, on Wednesday, June 1, members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad working with members of the Worcester DEA/High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) task force spotted the target of the warrant - Antonio Moreta - leave the front door of 34 Hitchcock Road.

Moreta was placed in custody without incident while the task force headed to the third floor apartment, where a loud commotion could be heard from inside.

Once inside, a male, later identified as Elvis Pena-Cruz, was seen running towards the bathroom and slam the door shut. Police opened the door and took him into custody. Another man, Franklin Moreta, was also taken into custody.

A search of the premises produced 2 digital scales, packaging materials, a “hide” canister, 108 grams of heroin and $1,921 in cash.

Pena-Cruz, 29, 34 Hitchcock Road, Worcester, was charged with Possession of a Stun Gun and Trafficking in Heroin (100-199 Grams). Franklin Moreta, 25, 34 Hitchcock Road was charged with Trafficking in Heroin (100-199 grams), and Antonio Moreta, 22, of 34 Hitchcock Road, Worcester, was charged with Possession of Class A Substance with Intent to Distribute and Trafficking in Heroin (100-199 Grams).

All three men were arraigned on Thursday at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
