Seven Hills Foundation To Buy NH Crotched Mountain School
The southern New Hampshire school for disabled young people was set to close in November.

WORCESTER, MA — The Worcester-based Seven Hills Foundation will acquire the Crotched Mountain School in southern New Hampshire, saving the school for disabled young people from imminent closure.
The Greenfield, NH, school's operator, Legacy by Gersh, announced in October it would close the Crotched Mountain School unless a buyer could be found. The Seven Hills Foundation will take over the 125-acre campus, and oversee the 38 young people who attend classes there.
Seven Hills Foundation President David Jordan previously oversaw the school between 1985 and 1995.

“This will be a bit of a homecoming for me because I dedicated a significant part of my professional career to making this school one of excellence,” Jordan said in a news release. “I look forward to creating a new and promising future for Crotched Mountain School.”
The Crotched Mountain School, located approximately halfway between Manchester and Keene, opened in 1953 and serves disabled people between age 4 and 21. The school offers daytime classes and a residential program. The Seven Hills Foundation is based in Worcester, but operates dozens of human services programs at locations across Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
