Severe Thunderstorm Warning Issued For Worcester, MetroWest Areas
60 mph winds and a possible tornado are the biggest threats, according to forecasters.

WORCESTER, MA — The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning Friday for a wide area stretching from the Quabbin Reservoir to Framingham.
Storms moving across the region this afternoon may bring wind gusts up to 60 mph, a possible tornado, rain and hail, according to the weather service.
The warning will be in effect until 3:30 p.m. Friday. The weather service advised residents in the path of the storm to take shelter until the warning expires. Communities like Worcester, Marlborough and Framingham and elsewhere along the Mass Pike were included in the warning.

Southern New England will likely see widespread storms through Friday evening. Parts of the state west of the Quabbin had already seen flash flood warnings and thunderstorms.
