Worcester Sees 3rd 2022 Homicide After Southbridge St. Shooting
The double-shooting took place over the weekend near Hurricane Betty's, according to police.

WORCESTER, MA — The 27-year-old man shot and killed near Hurricane Betty's in Worcester early Saturday morning was the city's third homicide victim so far in 2022.
The man died after shooting broke out near 1:30 a.m. along Southbridge Street. A 32-year-old man was also shot and seriously wounded, Worcester police reported.
A Worcester officer who was working a detail at Hurricane Betty's was able to respond to the scene right away, but police did not immediately announce any arrests related to the violence.

Worcester's first homicide of 2022 happened on Jan. 8 when a 29-year-old man died after he was wounded in a Webster Square-area shooting on Christmas Day in 2021. Jazmin Rosario, 17, was shot and killed on Jan. 15 at the Big Y along Mayfield Street.
