Arrest Made In Worcester Main South Shooting
The victim was shot Thursday afternoon in the third serious shooting in Worcester this week.
WORCESTER, MA — A man was injured Thursday afternoon in Worcester's third serious shooting this week.
Police responded to a report of a shooting along Mt. Pleasant Street in the Main South area just before 5 p.m. Thursday. The man was conscious when he was taken to the hospital, but police did not say what his condition was.
Police arrested Jose Merced, 33, of Eames Avenue. He was charged with armed assault to murder, assault and battery with a gun, use of a firearm in a felony, and a variety of gun violations.

One week ago, two men were shot at the Lakeside Apartments. One of the men died, the other was seriously wounded.
A second man died on Monday after he was shot in the face on July 4 following an argument in the Grafton Hill area. Police have arrested a 25-year-old Worcester man in connection to that killing.
