Shot Fired During Group Fight In Downtown Worcester
A gun discharged while a man pistol whipped another during a group fight near the YMCA.

WORCESTER, MA—A single gunshot rang during a group fight that happened on Sunday evening behind the YMCA in Worcester, and police are looking for a suspect.
On April 9 around 5:45 p.m., A Worcester police officer was on Main Street near the YMCA when he heard a gunshot, and headed to investigate. While driving on Ethan Allen Street, a man flagged him down and told the officer he saw a fight between two groups in a nearby lot, and that a shot was fired. He pointed out the victim involved in the fight, and the officer spoke with this 21-year-old Worcester resident, who said he and his 20-year-old friend were fighting with other males. During the fight, he was pistol whipped by one suspect, and the gun discharged one round when the victim was struck in the face with the handle.
The group scattered when the gun went off. The victim stated that the bullet grazed him but that he was unhurt, and he refused going to the hospital. The officer was told that the suspect was a Hispanic male with short hair, clean shaven and heavy set. It is believed that the suspect fled in a dark colored MV.
There were no other reported injuries.
