Shotgun, Pit Bull, Machete: Worcester Man Arrested For Weapons
Worcester police say a 32-year-old man was dealing drugs out of his car surrounded by fearsome weaponry.
WORCESTER, MA — With extreme caution, Worcester officers arrested a 32-year-old man on Thursday after finding him with a variety of weapons. Police said they caught the man had a pit bull, shotgun, machete, and a hatchet while he was dealing marijuana out of his car.
On Thursday night, officers from the vice squad went to the Quality Inn and Suites along Oriol Drive to investigate complaints of drug dealing. At the scene, they were told that Derek Zecco was selling drugs out of his car armed with a shotgun, and accompanied by a pit bull, police said in a statement.
When the officers approached Zecco's car, they saw the dog, and a knife sticking out of a backpack, police said. Zecco and another person sitting in the passenger seat were ordered out of the car. During a search, officers found the other weapons, police said, and a jar of marijuana.
Police charged Zecco with carrying a gun without a license, illegal possession of ammunition, possession of Class D drugs, and improper storage of a gun.
